Job Description

Banquet Server

This position is for a passionate individual with excellent communication skills and a strong desire to offer the best Banquet experience while engaging with our guests.

What you will be doing:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

  • Provide service to guests attending functions.

  • Assist the house team in setting up function rooms and moving banquet assets/furniture

  • Properly stock all convention equipment in appropriate areas as per the hotel standards

  • Interact with guests during meal periods

  • Flexible shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends

  • Effectively handle guest concerns through empowerment, and report any irregularities to the shift supervisor

  • Assist as server in other areas when needed

  • Assist with guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way

  • Work alone or as part of a team to cater to the needs of our group attendees.

  • Follow outlet policies, procedures, safety protocols, and service standards

  • Have full knowledge of beverage lists, promotions, menu items, contents, and preparation methods

  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate

  • Previous experience as server in luxury setting required

  • Wine and beverage knowledge required

  • Of legal age to serve alcohol

  • Food handler & TABC certifications required

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Full professional working proficiency in spoken English required, both verbal and non-verbal

  • Computer literacy required for all new and ongoing training programs conducted virtually

  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

  • Proven ability to resolve guest concerns

  • Highly responsible & reliable

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment, and without supervision

  • Ability to multi task and work cohesively as part of a team

  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
