Star Leasing Company Account Manager in Dallas, Texas

General Purpose:

By utilizing Star's approach in understanding our customers' needs and working together for the best solution, we will increase revenues of all types of equipment and services offered by Star Leasing Company. Our goal is to exceed customer expectations by ensuring all sales and marketing efforts are geared towards total customer satisfaction. Account Managers work within the boundaries of established policies and procedures to enable the company to meet its goals. Working with Star's branch and corporate team, “we will do what we say we will do when we say that we will do it.”

Every Account Manager is responsible for maximizing opportunities with existing assigned accounts as well as prospecting for new business within their appointed territory.

Core Functions:

Account Manager Purpose: attain new business sales objectives and maintain existing account base by analyzing account potential; initiating, developing, and closing sales; recommending new applications and sales strategies.

  • Every Star employee is expected to take care of their health and work safely at all times for themselves, their families and the safety of their coworkers

  • Demonstrates efficient time and territory management including skills such as segmentation and assessment of “fit” with the Star business model

  • Identifies development potential in accounts by studying current business; identifying and evaluating additional needs; analyzing opportunities.

  • Initiates sales process by building relationships; qualifying potential; scheduling appointments.

  • Develops sales by making initial presentation; explaining product and service enhancements and additions; introducing new products and services.

  • Closes business with a consultative approach and continues the relationship for the life of the partnership.

  • Contributes information to sales strategies by evaluating current product results; identifying needs to be filled; monitoring competitive products; analyzing and relaying customer reactions.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading

professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • The Account Manager does not currently have a formal supervisory role

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of the trailer industry a definite advantage.

  • Capable of using Star's selling model and respond to coaching on our approach.

  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain insurability through Star's insurance carrier

  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce, Word, Outlook.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • This position requires frequent overnight travel; all prospective employees must pass a background check, drug screen, have a valid driver's license and be insurable.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and listen; sit and use hands, and fingers; stand, walk, and occasionally reach with hands and arms
