Amentum Flight Simulator/Instructor III (Pilot) in Daleville, Alabama

We are pipelining candidates for a future role. *Contingent upon Contract Award*

Amentum is seeking Flight Simulator/Instructor III (Pilot) candidates. Potential locations include: Alabama, Arizona, Hawaii, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas, Germany, and potential other CONUS locations.

The Flight Instructor provides individual flight, and ground instructions to military, civilian or international student pilots in a highly structured training environment. Flight instruction may be performed in a high performance aerobatic aircraft with students who have limited or no previous flight experience. Instruction is based on highly structured syllabus of instruction. Instructors must be able to tailor instruction to students' individual progress and previous qualifications. Instructors must be skilled in providing instructions limited by daily flight schedule. This person maintains training folders that accurately reflect student performance and progress, documents student deficiencies and suggests corrective actions, and motivates students having problems with performance or adaptation to the flight environment. Instructors may also be required to qualify as an observer, monitoring aircraft in the traffic pattern and providing aircraft clearance information to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow. Instructors may also be required to qualify as an area controller who assigns areas to and monitors aircraft in the local training areas, including providing for aircraft separation for arriving and departing aircraft.

Essential responsibilities may include:

  • Defines, plans, organizes and executes complex flight profiles in a tactical environment in support of customer requirements.

  • Coordinates and actively participates in ground and flight operations efforts including mission planning, execution and briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management and safety.

  • Ensures compliance with service guidance, company policy and procedures and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.

  • Observes all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. (Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Secret Clearance.)

  • Education/Experience: 4-Year technical degree or trade school equivalency.

  • 5+ years of job-related experience

  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of flight principles, theories and concepts.

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately interface with all levels of employees and military and civilian customers, contractors and aircrew.

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of computer operations and applications.

  • Have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment, and be able to work extended hours and travel (within CONUS) as required.

  • Must possess current (where applicable) FAA Class II Medical Certificate or DoD equivalent and a valid, state issued driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Flight Simulator/Instructor III (Pilot) supporting the U.S. Army
