Amentum Computer Systems Analyst in Daleville, Alabama

We are pipelining candidates for a future role. *Contingent upon Contract Award*

Amentum is seeking Computer Systems Analys t candidates for future roles. Potential locations include: Alabama, Arizona, Hawaii, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas, Germany, and potential other CONUS locations.

The Analyst will provide several phases of the required systems analysis where the nature of the system is predetermined, uses established fact-finding approaches, knowledge of pertinent work processes and procedures, and familiarity with related computer programming practices, system software, and computer equipment. Will carry out fact finding and analyses as assigned, (usually of a single activity or a routine problem); applies established procedures where the nature of the system, feasibility, computer equipment and programming language have already been decided; may assist a higher level systems analyst by preparing the detailed specifications required by a computer programmers from information developed by the higher level analyst, and may research routine user problems and solve them by modifying the existing system when the solutions follow clear precedents. When cost and deadline estimates are required, results receive closer review. The supervisor defines objectives, priorities, and deadlines. Incumbents work independently; adapt guides to specific situations; resolve problems and deviations according to established practices; and obtain advice where precedents are unclear or not available. Completed work is reviewed for conformance to requirements, timeliness, and efficiency.

Essential responsibilities may include:

  • Maintains Automated Equipment/Maintenance Database Systems (AMS) and of sufficient capacity to accept all necessary data.

  • ​Ensures proper maintenance of the AMS files.

  • Assists in solving AMS -related problems beyond the capability of functional users.

  • Maintains the capability to expand the AMS database.

  • Assists DBM and all affected activities concerning the loading of new releases, special programs, and changes.

  • Conducts on-the-job training for AMS users as required.

  • Ensures AMS users are informed of all transaction identifier codes.

  • Notifies all AMS users of the status of scheduled down time.

  • Receives and upgrades PC equipment and software.

  • Provide general maintenance and installation support of computer equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. (Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Secret Clearance.)

  • Education/Experience: High School Diploma and completion of a computer course and working knowledge of the automated maintenance system is required.

  • The ability to read and write, and to interpret technical data is required.

  • 0-6 years of job-related experience.

  • Clarity of expression, both verbal and written, is required.

  • The ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with user and other data base monitors is required.

  • Ability to work irregular hours as needed.

  • Ability to travel if needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Computer Systems Analyst supporting the U.S. Army
