Amentum Computer Operator in Daleville, Alabama

We are pipelining candidates for a future role. *Contingent upon Contract Award*

Amentum is seeking a Computer Operator candidates for future roles. Potential locations may include: Alabama, Arizona, Hawaii, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas, Germany, and potential other CONUS locations.

The Computer Operator will work under close personal supervision and will be provided detailed written or oral guidance before and during assignments. As instructed, the selected candidate will resolve common operating problems and may serve as an assistant operator working under close supervision or performing a portion of a more senior operator's work.

Essential responsibilities may include:

  • Interpret program requirements, audit auxiliary peripheral units to ascertain correctness of input data, and check condition and arrangement of tapes.

  • Gather data for various reports required by accounting and management or for engineering/scientific applications.

  • Compile programs for programmers as required.

  • Organize the input and output of data from the computer.

  • Investigate and locate source of non-standard irregularities; analyze and recover program operations in complex error situations.

  • Write minor operational programs.

  • Assist in the maintenance and inventory control of computer equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. (Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Secret Clearance.)

  • Education/Experience: High School Diploma and vocational/technical training beyond high school

  • 0-4 years of job-related experience

  • Good communications and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs

  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Computer Operator supporting the U.S. Army
