SOLUTE Careers SMWDC Air Defense & Ballistic Missile Defense Operations SME in Dahlgren, Virginia

Sigma Defense is seeking a former Surface Warfare Officer with extensive Air & Ballistic Missile Defense experience for a position on our Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) Team in Dahlgren, VA as an Air Defense & Ballistic Missile (AD/BMD) Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME).

The ideal candidate is a former Surface Warfare Officer with a minimum of 10 years in the AD/BMD Mission Area who is a qualified and Tactical Action Officer or BMD Watch Officer (minimum of 3 years of experience). We need the rare skills sets you have developed throughout your Naval Career to support the integrated air and missile defense mission areas, enhancing warfighting readiness, and increasing the lethality and tactical proficiency of the Surface Force. In this position, you will support SMWDC Headquarters and make direct contributions to the enhancement warfare training.

Requirements

  • At minimum 10 years of AD/BMD Mission Area experience as a qualified Tactical Action Officer or BMD Watch Officer (for a minimum of three years).

    • As part of this experience, a minimum of 5 years must have been served onboard an AEGIS DDG and or CG.
  • Strike Group, Fleet, or Major Training Command, Systems Testing Command or similar military organization planning experience.

  • Qualified and experienced in a watch station with the authority to employe the AEGIS Weapon System (i.e. Tactical Action Officer (TAO), Air Warfare Coordinator (AAWC)).

  • Possess a Tactical Action Officer Qualification letter or BMD Watch Officer qualification letter with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

  • Experience as a WTI (IAMD) qualified officer preferred. Aviation Officer Qualification is acceptable.

  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative assessment methods to support war-fighting readiness, capabilities, and the capacity evaluations.

  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Access, Excel, Power Point, Project, and Word).

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an unspecified discipline.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess an active, DoD-issued TS/SCI security clearance.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,00 annually.
