Job Summary:
The Engineering Technician II performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations, follows standard work methods on recurring assignments but receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments. Technical adequacy of routine work is reviewed on completion; non-routine work may be reviewed in progress.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
Follows specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, services or repairs simple instruments or equipment.
Conducts a variety of tests using established methods, prepares test specimens, adjusts and operates equipment, records test data, and points out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors.
Extracts engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, processes the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry, and presents the data in prescribed form.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Three (3) years of full-time professional experience as an Engineering Technician, performing the following skills:
Welding (mig, tig, stick, and gas) or machine operation (lathes and mills), sheet metal fabrication, interpreting models and drawing packages, knowledge of machinery or welding fixture applications.
Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and CAMWorks, basic CNC programming skills, create drawings from preliminary design and/or field notes, performs basic drafting and design calculations and minimal instruction needed to create/modify documentation.
