CACI is seeking a Help Desk Support Technician who will provide technical support and aid all USCG Personnel (Military and civilian) with respect to information system support tickets. This on-site position is supporting a Coast Guard customer located at the Coast Guard Yard in Curtis Bay, MD.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Act as first point of contact for installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of computers including laptops, docking stations, peripherals, and internal components (like RAM, HDD, etc.)

  • Troubleshoot to determine problems for Windows operating systems and applications.

  • Work on project teams with the customer and technical staff to complete base-wide projects or hardware modifications.

  • Assist new users with account creation and workstation installation.

  • Act as technical support liaison for new users checking in with the Coast Guard Yard.

  • Conduct inter-unit check-in and check-out processes for new employees.

  • Communicate with outside vendors over the phone and in-person to troubleshoot complex problems.

  • Document ticket resolutions and hardware changes throughout the Coast Guard Yard.

  • Participate in special projects as required.

More About the Role:

In your role as customer/telecommunications support you will:

  • Support enterprise-wide logistics systems involving a wide variety of platforms, operating systems, applications, and desktop/laptop configurations.

  • Identify and breakdown problems using structured problem resolution approaches.

  • Work with network specialists, application developers and security specialists to prevent recurring problems.

  • Manage request for and coordinate providing supporting documentation to aide procurement and installation of hardware and software.

  • Perform customer support duties such as managing access to certain applications and assist in configuring workstations and applications.

  • Maintain documentation and support online tracking of configuration management records to account for acquisition, use, transfer, and disposal of government property.

  • Coordinate with other branch employees and Coast Guard telecom support personnel to provide services and correct problems.

  • Monitor daily operations of telecommunication services.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication operations and services under various contingencies.

  • Manage requests for and coordinate telecommunication services

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance required.

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 2-3 years related experience.

  • Detailed understanding of troubleshooting methodologies.

  • Experience troubleshooting Windows-based workstations, applications, operating systems, and peripherals (including printers and scanners).

  • Requires organizational skills and the ability to document workload using Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • Normal demands associated with an office environment.

  • Ability work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face.

  • Able to lift 50+ pounds.

  • Requires strong communication and excellent customer service skills.

  • Strong team-player able to engage in many different day-to-day tasks.

  • Microsoft Certified Professional OR CompTIA A+ Certified Professional

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • CompTIA Security+ OR CompTIA Network+ Certified Professional
