As an Engineering Program Manager for the Wireless Systems & Compliance Engineering team, you will apply your Program / Project management skills and have significant responsibility for driving multiple RF test-related projects that are essential to timely, successful release of Apple products. This is an individual contributor role. The teams that the EPM will support have responsibility for ensuring that Apple products meet RF performance specifications and align with relevant government and industry regulations. To ensure RF compliance, testing is performed with a range of niche RF test equipment and setups, including conducted RF test stations, anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers as well as custom crafted setups in indoor and outdoor environments. The test setups include instrument and robotics automation, as needed. The team’s responsibilities include direct testing of products with RF features as well as testing to assess potential RF degradation due to interaction with accessories.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven track record in a technical role related to the RF test discipline.

  • Proficient Technical Program or Project Management.

  • Experience working in a multifaceted engineering environment and real-time crisis leadership skills.

  • Strong desire to own/drive project development using well defined metrics.

  • Knowledge of 3GPP RF test specifications, experience with RF test equipment, understanding of cellular standards including WCDMA, LTE and 5G, general knowledge of WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS is all a plus.

  • Candidate must have experience with principled issue reporting, bug tracking, and communication of program risks & status.

  • Candidate should be able engage in technical discussions related to RF testing with the multi-functional teams.

Description

  • You will facilitate technical issue resolution to enable timely readiness of RF testing facilities and related equipment. - Collaborate with Apple Facilities to plan, procure and coordinate build-out of RF test facilities. - Manage multiple parallel projects. - Team up with RF test engineers and technicians to develop plans for indoor (test chamber) and outdoor (field) testing of Apple products including iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch among others. - You will coordinate and drive build-readiness reviews. - You will manage specification reviews and the spec sign off process. - You will collaborate with System EPMs to coordinate regulatory testing within the timeline for product MP release. - You will work closely with factory teams to enable RF testing in development and mass production. - Attend and drive technical sessions with suppliers/design partners to supervise & follow through issues/customer concerns. - You will attend and drive collaboration and co-ordination sessions with cross functional team members from SW/FW/HW to track feature enablement. - You will present to management in weekly cross functional meetings to align on project progress. - You will prepare issue/bug reports to present to system level teams, cross functional teams and management.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
