The Platform Security Certifications team is responsible for demonstrating the reliability and strength of the key security features of Apple devices. Our team is in charge of defining the security certification strategy for all the Apple platforms (including Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV) and running these certifications globally. At the intersection of security technology, industry influence and evolving governmental standards, the team is looking for a motivated, experienced engineer to help with defining and running evidence collection and testing for these security certifications. You will collaborate with evaluation labs and governmental bodies. You will also interact with multiple Apple entities in cross-functional setting to define the certification testing strategies and automations that internal and external parties can rely on.

Key Qualifications

  • Significant understanding of security engineering principles

  • Experience performing security testing and code review to improve software security

  • More than 3 years of experience working in evaluation laboratory, or proven experience in security testing

  • Proven understanding of evidence collection for security certifications under different schemes

  • Hands-on experience creating test automation procedures and test case development

  • Experience defining and reviewing test plans

Description

Our team is responsible for defining and running the security certification strategy for all the Apple platforms such as Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Vision Pro. We also lead these certification projects around the world utilizing a great variety of standards and evaluation schemes. At the intersection of security technologies, industry influence and evolving governmental standards, the team is looking for a motivated testing engineer to help with testing aspects of these security certifications from performing testing to building automation to streamline the testing efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the security certification testing for Apple products and operating systems to meet certification scheme requirements as well as work cooperatively with other Apple engineering teams. You will also collaborate with evaluation laboratories and governmental certification bodies. This position is for an engineer with strong technical background, and passion for security through testing. If this is you, we'd love to hear from you!

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience in security certification

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
