The primary responsibility of the Assistant Dock Manager is to provide exceptional service to our members, maintain an impeccably clean and ship shape fleet, and ensure the club runs smoothly when the Dock Manager is not present. In addition to assisting with the daily logistics of the club location, you will be expected to perform all duties required of the Dock Hands. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.

  • Help train and mentor all dock level personnel to ensure our members receive the highest level of service at all club locations.

  • Maintain a cooperative, team attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees.

  • Develop monthly dock staff schedule in concert with the Dock Manager. The Assistant Dock Manager should be scheduled on all days the Dock Manager is not present at the docks.

  • Ensure all best practices are followed to provide consistent service is provided as detailed in our dock manual.

  • Ensure all dock staff provides the “Red Carpet” Treatment our members deserve. Help establish specific member meet and greet procedures in addition to boarding and disembarking procedures.

  • Accountable for weekly vessel maintenance schedule being followed to ensure all boats are receiving a routine weekly deep cleaning as detailed in the manual.

  • Must be proficient in Fleetio. Submit work orders to the Fleet Manager to ensure all fleet needs are being addressed in a timely manner.

  • Investigate member misconduct, submit all incident reports to the main office, and correspond with members on dock related issues when the Dock Manager isn’t available.

  • Ensure adequate supply levels are being maintained at each location.

  • Assist the Dock Manager with weekly paperwork submissions into the home office.

  • Oversee and track fuel logs and vessel fueling.

  • Become familiar with local waterways and popular boating destinations surrounding your club and adhere to all safety policies.

  • Oversee that the boats are clean and the members happy.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • Experience in and around boats is desirable

  • Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity

  • Highly effective communications skills and friendly customer service is required

  • Must be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervised

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to perform minor boat maintenance (engine oil, drive oil, filters, bilge pump, etc)

  • Physical ability to

  • lift / carry up to 30 lbs

  • board and un-board boats dozens of times per day

  • clean boats often using handle mounted brush

  • occasionally kneel / stoop to clean interior of boat compartments

  • Vision adequate to read / manipulate handheld computer tablets
