CareFirst Project Coordinator Intern - Finance Operations (Hybrid - Cumberland, MD) in Cumberland, Maryland

Resp & Qualifications

PURPOSE:

CareFirst runs a year-round internship program. The ideal candidate is someone who can work throughout the year up to 15-20 hours in the Spring/Fall and 30-40 hours in the summer. This particular internship is an on-site opportunity working out of our Cumberland, MD office.

The department is responsible for providing analytical support for existing systems as well as participating in the design and implementation of new systems to ensure claims and service applications are operating effectively and efficiently to achieve departmental goals and objectives. The department provides support to other CareFirst departments in conjunction with department supervisors to ensure continuous improvement to job knowledge, quality, and productivity to better serve CareFirst customers.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Support Finance team in day-to-day activities.

  • Collaborate with the Finance Supervisor and Finance Adjuster(s) on assigned project tasks.

  • Interface with Finance Adjuster(s) resources to interpret requirements.

  • Document workflows to support system design and development.

  • Contribute to project requirements documentation and manage the project documents.

  • Liaise with the project stakeholders on a regular basis.

  • Track project milestones and deliverables.

  • Support day-to-day activities as assigned.

  • Support Accounts Receivables, Collections, and Vendor Recovery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: This position requires an individual working towards at least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University.

Experience: Junior or Senior Undergraduate student targeting majors in Business Administration, Project Management or related field studies with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Support Finance team in day-to-day activities.

  • Collaborate with the Finance Supervisor and Finance Adjuster(s) on assigned project tasks.

  • Interface with Finance Adjuster(s) resources to interpret requirements.

  • Document workflows to support system design and development.

Salary Range: $18,720 - $26,000
