American Woodmark Maintenance Technician, Utility Technician 2nd shift in Cumberland, Maryland

A Maintenance Utility Tech is responsible for assisting in Maintenance Department duties, including repairs and upkeep of plant tools, equipment, and machinery; and overall housekeeping of the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform assigned duties using basic shop tools, both mechanical and electrical hand tools, scissor lifts and fork truck
  • Perform assigned duties using manlifts at heights of 20 feet or higher
  • Perform routine dust abatement including managing dust buildup on various areas of the facility including walls, pipes, beams, duct work, and racks
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment, machinery and facility to include garbage removal, snow removal, dusting, and painting
  • Assist with facilities maintenance including, preventative maintenance, adhering to both safety and written procedures for industrial equipment
  • Interpret work orders and follow CMMS P.M. instructions
  • Display, encourage, and maintain a professional work environment through the timely completion of assigned projects, respectful communication; utilizing teamwork, integrity, and accountability
  • Maintain a safe work environment, including housekeeping
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to make quality judgements and prioritize responsibilities to minimize plant downtime
  • Ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

Required Physical Ability:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, climb, and perform various duties from a ladder and at various heights
  • Frequent bending, crouching, pulling, and pushing
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 20lb, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lb
