UPMC Licensed Practical Nurse, OP, Urgent Care - UPMC Western Maryland in Cumberland, Maryland

UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a full-time LPN to support South Cumberland Urgent Care!

The urgent care is open 8:00am - 8:00 pm. This position will include rotating weekends and holidays.

Sign-On Bonus Details:

$5,000.00 – 2yr Commitment | 0-1 years experience & recent graduates

$7,500.00 – 2yr Commitment | 1+ years experience

As the LPN, OP, you will provide professional nursing care to office patients under the supervision of patient care providers.

Responsibilities:

  • Draw blood.

  • Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).

  • Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.

  • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.

  • Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.

  • Comply with all policies and procedures.

  • Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.

  • Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.

  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.

  • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. One year clinical experience preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
