ACT Personnel Service, Inc. Financial Controller in Cumberland, Maryland

We are seeking an experienced Controller with a proven track record of supporting high-level financials to join us in contributing to the continued success and growth of our organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller oversees all company financial activities to ensure it stays in strong financial standing. Their main duties include building revenue reports, distributing calculated funds to various departments and implementing company financial policies. The Controller will work on the executive team to build and deliver financial policies and strategies that improve the business financial status. You will oversee all the financial operations within each department to ensure their spending is within the budget and following the financial policies laid out by the CFO.

Position Requirements

  • Preparing financial statements, both internal and external.
  • Monitor the companys financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs.
  • Assist management with important financial decisions.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulations.
  • Coordinating external auditor activity.
  • Establish and maintain financial controls.
  • Assess and improve accounting procedures.
  • Supervising AR, AP, and Staff Accountants.
  • Creating strategic plans for financial operations.
  • Providing company leaders with insights for decision-making purposes.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration.
  • CPA, MBA, certification preferred but not required.

Minimum Skills Required

  • Exceptional numerical ability
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with spreadsheet and financial analysis software
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail coupled with patience and tenacity
  • Knowledge of regulatory and other financial standards and requirements
  • Understanding of taxation, payroll, and other fiscal aspects of a business
  • Experience conducting audits
