UPMC Western Maryland is hiring an Echosonography Student Tech to join our Cardiology department!
As the Student Tech, you will perform imaging procedures at a technical level under the supervision of a registered technologist, incorporating learning and education with the performance of tasks to assist the technologist in their responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Creates Cardiovascular MR, Echo, Nuclear Cardiology, or Vascular exams and enters patient information in the Cardiology or Vascular Information Systems.
Assist the Technologist in performing modality-specific exams.
Depending on modality, may utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data and complete procedures according to protocol under the supervision of a Technologist.
May assist Technologist in setting up contrast in Cardiovascular MR however, will never be responsible for loading or priming the injector.
Assist with positioning and performing exams.
Follows Radiation Safety standards and protocols for Nuclear Cardiology.
May perform daily equipment inspections and quality control under the supervision of a Technologist.
Maintain clinical proficiency for all completed competencies and equipment skills.
Must be an active 2nd year student in ARRT, ARDMS, CNMT, CCI or NMCTB approved school. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation OR Basic Life Support CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
