Sony Pictures Entertainment Sr. Analyst, Payroll in Culver City, California

This role will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day tax administration tasks. In this role, the candidate must demonstrate a strong knowledge of payroll processes and financial processes as it relates to payroll, attention to detail, collaboration skills, and a work history that clearly demonstrates job stability with increasing levels of responsibility.

Role/Responsibilities :

  • Adds new earning and deduction codes and tax jurisdictions

  • Perform Pre-Open and Pre-Check Tax Audits

  • Perform employee level balancing of deductions

  • Validate testing for tax updates

  • Research laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures

  • Work with Operation team to respond to payroll related inquiries/cases

  • Work with the Finance team for any month-end close payroll related activities

  • Provide Financial reports for the Line of Business

  • Assist in researching GL issues

Experience/Skills:

  • AS degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in payroll

  • Fundamental Payroll Professional (FPC)

  • Multi-state taxation knowledge

  • Excellent organization skills, detail-oriented, oral and written communication skills

  • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Advance computer skills: Microsoft Excel

  • Prior UKG Pro experience, highly desirable
