Amazon Studios is responsible for producing and acquiring compelling, exclusive Original content for our massive global base of Amazon Prime Video customers. As the home of Original shows and movies like the raucous and satirical superhero takedown The Boys, the TV adaptation of The Lord of the Rings, and we are just getting started. Amazon Studios is seeking a Principal Finance Manager to join our Culver City-based team. The Principal Finance Manager will report directly to the Head of Original Content Planning and Analysis, and will lead financial planning efforts for one of our Amazon Original series creative departments (e.g., drama, comedy). With broad responsibilities and direct influence over content investment decisions, this is an ideal opportunity for a finance professional who is passionate about data, analytics, driving value for customers, and, of course, video content.

This role requires a self-starter with strong analytics, business acumen, keen attention to detail and a track record of influencing senior business leaders to drive the organization to the right result. This role has regular interaction with multiple teams across Amazon Studios and Prime Video, and requires strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to think both strategically and tactically, analyze quantitatively and problem-solve. The successful candidate will have operated in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment and will be able to prioritize multiple projects. Prior studio entertainment experience is required.

• Provide financial analyses and strategic support to our Creative, Production Finance, Production, and Business Affairs Executives throughout their decision-making processes

• Implement strategies to increase the efficiency of our Studio operations

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation

• Contribute to analyses to determine appropriate content budgets

• Provide timely, accurate and complete financial forecasting and reporting for our Original series content budgets

Basic Qualifications

  • 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes

  • 7+ years of finance technology, forecast & budgeting, or other finance-focused competency experience

  • Experience with Tableau, Python, SQB, Quicksight, Cognos or or other BI packages

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $111,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
