Sony Pictures Entertainment People (Human Resources) Transformation Intern, P&O – Summer 2024 in Culver City, California

Our Emerging Talent Programs, which includes Interns, Trainees, and Finance Rotational Associates, offer unique opportunities for students, recent graduates, and emerging talent to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allows you to build on your experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, and many educational and social networking opportunities. This Summer Internship is from May/June through August 30th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university. A hybrid work structure may or may not be available.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:The People Transformation Intern will work within the People & Organization (P&O)/Human Resources group at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) to implement improvement projects and initiatives to drive operational excellence and effectiveness of the P&O Team. The People Transformation Team collaborates globally across across SPE to leverage Continuous Improvement, Data & Analytics and Change Management to implement solutions to transform our ways of working.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in documenting standardized procedures and workflows for various HR tasks

  • Assist with training documentation

  • Collaborate with HR team members to collect data and analyze existing workflows

  • Opportunity to participate and learn about Human Resources and complete projects that are value added to the business

  • Maintain documentation of improvement efforts, including project plans, meeting minutes, and progress reports

  • Help monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of implemented improvements

  • Assist team in administrative tasks and supporting daily activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working toward a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

  • Proficiency with various Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Intellectual curiosity with a keenness to learn new skills and expand capabilities

  • A problem-solver constantly looking for ways to work efficiently

  • Exercise discretion and good judgment, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of HR processes and/or systems

  • Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Agile

  • Experience with process mapping sofware such as LucidChart or Visio
