Amazon Legal Assistant, Intellectual Property Operations in Culver City, California

Description

Work hard, have fun, and make history with Amazon’s legal team. As a Legal Assistant, you will be a key member of the Trademark team, helping support the rapidly growing business.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities include providing front line support for the team, coordinating execution of agreements and official documents, tracking documents, helping ensure the accuracy of records by assisting in the maintenance of the matter tracking system, conducting invoice review for accuracy of billing, performing general office tasks (such as calendaring, filing and budget tracking) and other administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and independently; complete a high volume of tasks and projects quickly with little guidance; react with the appropriate urgency; take effective action without having to know the total picture; and solve issues that arise impacting people within the team and/or related partners. The candidate will be internal client-service oriented, have high attention to detail while still meeting quick turnarounds and tight deadlines, have great organizational skills, and the ability to quickly pivot and switch gears. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information is a must. A good sense of humor is essential.

A day in the life

• Effectively use and manage all software, systems, and tools used by the Legal Department and by their specific legal team (i.e., Contract Central, iManage, Serengeti, Outlook, etc.)

• Assist with POA, notarization, apostille, legalization, etc.

• Open matters and coordinate with Docket team re opening of multiple matters for large filing projects

• File and maintain Trademark Registration Certificates

• Assist with mailing of priority and other documents

• Create SOPs for business and/or team use

• Propose simplification measures to eliminate repetitive, low value, and/or low risk work

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of professional or military experience

  • 2+ years of administrative assistant experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks

  • Experience in a technology company or other legal experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $38,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $92,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
