Apple News provides millions of users with trusted news from leading news organizations around the globe. Our daily podcast, Apple News Today, is the audio extension of our app, adapting the best and most engaging content on our platform into a 15-minute audio briefing on the day’s news. In this role, you will work Sunday-Thursday and be responsible for leading the final chapter of our daily production workflow. That will include booking guests, writing and editing segments, overseeing tracking, finalizing show copy, and publishing episodes. As a daily news program, some flexibility may be required around the days and hours worked.
Description
- You will monitor the news and respond to late-in-the-day breaking stories, from booking interviews to scripting tape-and-copy segments as needed. - You will edit and finalize all Apple News Today scripts before tracking with our host and engineer. - You will write clear, engaging copy for headlines, push notifications, and other show copy. And you will work with our copy editors to ensure Apple News Today copy meets all aspects of our in-house style. - You will pitch articles to be featured on Apple News Today, with an emphasis on quality, accuracy and impact. - You will surface bugs and other performance issues related to publishing.
Minimum Qualifications
You have five years’ experience in audio production, preferably in daily news production, at senior levels.
You closely follow the U.S. news cycle, with the interest and ability to cover a wide spectrum of news stories.
You have strong, nonpartisan editorial judgment, and the ability to make difficult editorial You can respond to breaking news and clearly communicate changes to our show plan with key stakeholders.
You’re a sharp writer and an efficient editor for the ear with a deep understanding of the Apple News Today voice.
You have a keen eye for detail and rigorous fact-checking capabilities.
You lead with compassion and a growth mindset. You can deliver clear, kind and actionable feedback on scripts, plus incorporate feedback seamlessly into your own work.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $119,200 and $225,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
