ZOBER INDUSTRIES INCORPORATED Production Manager of Flowmeter Manufacturing in Croydon, Pennsylvania

The flowmeter business is a subset of Zober Industries.

The Production Manager of the Flowmeter area is responsible to lead a large team to deliver variable area flowmeters made of acrylic. This segment of Zober Industries is known as "Key Instruments" and requires the manager to lead the production of flowmeters in a timely manner with top quality. They should also become technical experts of Flowmeters and the entire order to delivery process.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Manage a staff of 20-40 to deliver product on time with good cost and quality.

· Manage production schedules and coordinate services to maximize productivity.

· Manage inventory to ensure continual supply to meet dynamic and forecasted demand

· Oversee Engineering & work with the Quality Department to deliver product at optimal cost, schedule, and quality.

· Enforce quality control to reduce waste.

· Evaluate current manufacturing practices, identify and manage improvements.

· Lead Continuous Improvement programs to lower cost and improve efficiency of all processes.

· Assign work to employees.

· Ensure all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free.

· Communicate regularly with customers and upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.

· Evaluate machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.

· Set goals for each manufacturing employee & team.

· Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.

· Ensure adequate scheduling of staff.

· Manage all people issues A to Z including resolving concerns, conflict resolution, performance, attendance, tardiness, and rewards like raises or promotions.

· Work overtime when needed and to manage/motivate others to do the same.

· Be able to handle stress and challenges with emotional maturity.

· Handle fast pace, stress and demanding customers that often challenge available resources.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications and Skills

· Must have multi-year experience managing 20-40 people with success.

· Strong proven leadership to manage and motivate others to optimal performance.

· An Engineering degree with focus on Mechanical or Industrial is recommended.

· An MBA or business degree to compliment a technical degree is desirable.

· Good understanding of liquid and gas flow and flow variable area flow meters.

· Strong experience performing both fabrication and assembly.

· Experience fabricating, troubleshooting and repairing flowmeters or similar.

· Experience with sophisticated CNC machinery, and industrial silk screening

· Top tier computer skills, especially ERP systems like SAP and intermediate Excel

· Ability to adjust to changing resources and output requirements.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. They must be aware of a business's needs while making technical recommendations understandable.

· Good leadership skills to manage and implement productivity changes. The ability to develop relationships with coworkers is useful when making recommendations.

· Strong analytical skills to evaluate and interpret data. They also use these skills to create reports and describe the results to company decision-makers.

Working Conditions

Fast paced, great variety of work with constant deadlines. Industrial environment with occasional dust, noise, etc., with protective equipment needed occasionally. Job may require lifting up to 50 lbs. Must have reliable transportation. Be willing and able to work overtime up to 15%. Able to work in an environment not air conditioned in summers.
