Worldwide Equipment MOBILE SERVICE TECHNICIAN in Cross Lanes, West Virginia

POSITION SUMMARY

A Mobile Service Technician performs repairs And / Or maintenance on Heavy and Medium Duty vehicles at various locations away from the dealership. Holds responsibility for maintaining a client’s fleet at their specific location or performs emergency repairs in the field. This position MUST be committed to providing an exceptional customer service experience which includes booking appointments, asking for additional business and develops / maintains relationships with customers. The potential candidate, under minimal supervision, will perform all functions of a fully qualified heavy and medium duty truck repair technician. Travel within the designated region as required, will work in the shop when no road work is available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Functions as an on call roadside technician, performing repairs where it sits.

  • Responds to calls 7/24 unless flagged as “unavailable” by the Service Manager.

  • Foster a positive customer experience by listening to the customers need and develop an understanding of the overall complaint.

  • Diagnose the problem via OE software and other means.

  • Effectively communicate the issue to the customer in a professional and timely manner.

  • Perform mechanical repair of vehicle components whether it’s a medium or heavy-duty truck.

  • Validate repair to ensure customer problem is resolved.

  • Tag, wash, and box warranty parts and turn them into the appropriate dealer location.

  • Manage a parts inventory on the service truck and keep the vehicle properly stocked.

  • Effectively administer paperwork as required and in a professional and timely manner. May collect payments at the time services are provided.

  • Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards to include basic maintenance, fuel/oil, cleaning and ensuring required inspections are performed and documented appropriately.

  • Participate in service training objectives and utilize that training in the course of daily work.

  • Perform additional duties and repairs as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

  • Reports directly to the Service Manager or Designee daily to work out day-to-day tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • A college degree or a certificate/degree from a trade school is preferred, but not required.

  • Previous dealership experience is preferred but not required.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Must pass MVR Check.

  • Must have or be able to acquire a Minimum class B CDL endorsement.

  • Industry certifications are preferred.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

  • Must be able to have flexible schedule including working scheduled night and weekends. Schedule is based off customer workload.

  • Owns all the hand tooling needed to perform repairs on heavy and medium duty trucks.
