Cuyuna Regional Medical Center * Med/Surg Crosby, MN Nursing Part Time Over, 12-hour Day Shift FTE: .75 FTE (60 hours per pay period) Weekend Requirements: Every 3rd weekend Posted 03/05/2024 Req # 13014 POSITION SUMMARY RN Nursing Interns will perform duties under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. They will work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients. They will serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and must be willing to continually strive to provide the highest possible level of care for the patients. The internship program at CRMC is a ten-week rotation designed to be a hands on experience providing RN students insight into multiple facets of Hospital Nursing Services including Med/Surg, ER, ICU and OB. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Enrolled in nursing program; BSN program preferred. Must have completed junior year of college or have at least one semester of medical-surgical training. Must be able to provide a letter of recommendation from an instructor. A contract between CRMC and the college will need to be established if not already in place. Nursing Intern will need to provide CRMC with a list of procedures and tasks they can not perform as a student. License/Certificates: American Heart Association BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Special Skills and Aptitudes: Compassionate Effective communicator - verbal and written Critical thinking Attention to detail Confidence Adaptability Stamina Commitment to development ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Deliver safe, direct care to an assigned group of patients, under the supervision of an RN Preceptor. Work within organization, nursing division and departmental policies. Use nursing processes to work in collaboration with the healthcare team, implementing and documenting individualized nursing plans of care, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching. Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights; and document. Assist with special tests and procedures, ensure proper consent is obtained. Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients/families in accordance with medical center standards.
