Cuyuna Regional Medical Center * Hospital Admitting Crosby, MN Administrative Support Part Time Over, 8-hour Varied Shift FTE: .8 FTE (64 hours per pay period) Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend Posted 02/07/2024 Req # 12955 This position is an internal posting for current CRMC employees to apply beginning at 8:00 am on 2/7 until 4:00 pm on 2/13. Week One: Wed 3-11, Thurs 3-11, Fri 11-7, Sat 11-7 Week Two: Mon 3-11, Wed 3-11, Thurs 11-7, Fri 11-7 POSITION SUMMARY To provide a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents/patients, visitors, and employees of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. Perform duties efficiently with a commitment to quality and excellence. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: High School education preferred. Must have sufficient reading ability to read instructions and chemical product labels and fill out maintenance request. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions, interact with all members of the healthcare team, and respond appropriately to all requests. License/Certificates: N/A Special Skills and Aptitudes: Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening and communication skills. Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation. Ability to communicate effectively in variety of settings and with a variety of people at different organization levels. Ability to operate all equipment for this position. Exercises good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and insight to problem solving. Uses supplies and equipment in a cost effective manner while ensuring safety and cleanliness. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Follow established policies of CRMC and the Environmental Services Department. Provide a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility. Clean, disinfect, dust, and vacuum all necessary rooms and fixtures within the facility to maintain a clean environment. This includes walls, ceilings, windows, sinks, toilets, exam tables, mirrors, telephones, in all rooms, hallways, etc. Operate equipment as necessary to complete tasks. Replenish supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc.) as needed. Empty trash and transport to the dumpster. Follow safe work practices and utilize personal protective equipment appropriately for all tasks. Follow all safety rules and comply with all State and Federal requirements. Maintain open communication with other departments in order to provide quality service for patients, visitors and co-workers. Demonstrate Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned. POSITION SUMMARY Admitting Clerks have initial customer contact which provides an exchange of needed information. The information gathered serves various departments. High quality customer service and overall efficiency will result in customer satisfaction and will help Cuyuna Regional Medical Center achieve its goals. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Successful completion of data entry, and general clerical standards administered by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Human Resources staff. Adjusts to stressful situations with confidence and good judgment. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Processes patient registrations in a timely and accurate fashion. Receives and interviews incoming patients/residents or representatives to obtain pertinent data. Processes pre-registration documents. Confirms insurance benefits, including copies of required documents. Obtains patient/resident or responsible person's signature where required and creates wrist band and labels when req ired. Distributes registration records to proper departments. Files documents in an accurate manner. Processes telephone calls and pages efficiently, accurately, politely and calmly. Corrects registration errors and sends for needed billing information. Demonstrate Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned. Lead Responsibilities Customer Service and communication skills are essential for the lead position. Provide day to day direction to staff in daily operations to including taking calls and redirecting staff to prioritize tasks. Communicate performance issues to manager. Assist in the training of new staff and developing of current staff, in registration functions and customer service standards. Analyze and monitor all assigned registration/billing work queues, identify registration error trends and develop training resources to improve accuracy. Work closely with billing staff to identify and create account accuracy improvement projects. Serve as a communication liaison between billing, coding and registration staff for problem accounts and efficiencies. Utilize, analyze and suggest improvements in technology use for determination in advancement of registration efficiencies and process improvement. Assist Admitting Manager with daily staff scheduling, adhering to department payroll budget guidelines. Assist in the completion of monthly accuracy audits for all registration staff, including ancillary clinics. Assist Admitting Manager in recruiting, hiring and retaining department staff members.
