Cuyuna Regional Medical Center * Emergency Room Crosby, MN Clinical & Technical Part Time Under, 12-hour Day Shift FTE: .3 FTE (24 hours per pay period) Weekend Requirements: Every 3rd weekend Posted 03/28/2024 Req # 13054 This position is an internal posting for current CRMC employees to apply beginning at 8:00 am on 3/28 until 4:00 pm on 4/3. POSITION SUMMARY The Emergency Department Technician provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services, within the scope of the Emergency Room Technician and as delegated by the registered nurse, to patients receiving care at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. This position provides care for or assistance to patients of all ages, including newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults. They interact with staff, patients and visitors, and others in a manner that facilitates communication and presents an appropriate image of the facility. These functions are essential components in achieving the goals of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Previous emergency department, EMT or LPN experience required. License/Certificates: Current EMT-B or Intermediate certification from the State of Minnesota EMSRB or Minnesota LPN license. American Heart Association BLS provider or instructor-level certification required within 30 days of hire. Special Skills and Aptitudes: Must have good audio and visual acuity with excellent listening skills. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening, reporting and communication skills. Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation. Adjusts to stressful situations with confidence and good judgment. Knowledge of and adherence to principles involving procedures, hygienic and safety measure. Ability to perform routine and complex procedures ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Facilitate professional and courteous communication between external and internal customers, including staff, providers, visitors, and patients. Establish appropriate priorities for receiving, recording, relaying and acting upon information. Assist with the clerical duties including transfer process for patients, to/from the ED or floor, or to outside facilities o Assist with placement and consult calls to internal providers and outside facilities. Practice and maintain high ethical standards including patient and facility confidentiality. Respond to change productively and handles additional tasks as assigned. Uphold and support established Medical Center mission, goals and policies. Maintain inventory and ordering of supplies and forms. Assist with ADL's and patient care as directed by the RN. Answer and appropriately respond to patient call lights. Assist with meeting the needs of families. Understand and correctly operate and care for equipment when directed to do so. Stock supplies perform routine cleaning of rooms and unit between patients and equipment as required. Demonstrate Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned.
