Cuyuna Regional Medical Center * Clinical IT Crosby, MN Business Professional Full Time, Professional FTE: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) Weekend Requirements: No weekends Posted 02/23/2024 Req # 12991 POSITION SUMMARY The Clinical Informatics Specialist (CI Specialist) under the leadership of the Director of Clinical Informatics, requests/manages access to Excellian, organizes related education for all clinical users and as a credentialed trainer, provides education for entry level staff, nurses and providers. They will also support daily operations of the department including meeting planning/coordination, developing meeting materials, meeting minutes, data analysis and various support tasks as assigned. The CI Specialist will also independently perform a wide variety of complex duties such as data analytics, report creation and interpretation, and other data related duties. The CI Specialist will also maintain and expand the informatics intranet page and coordinate a user help database and develop an issue/ticket tracking process. Other duties will include coordination with the Marketing team and Clinic leadership related to MyChart usage and optimization. The Clinical Informatics Specialist will also act as support for Clinical Analysts to assist in departmental projects while maintaining sensitive and confidential information. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality work, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad clerical and EHR knowledge. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Requires a minimum of an AA degree. Prefer Bachelors degree in IT or related studies. Experience as a trainer in EHR, EPIC preferred. Three years experience in healthcare IT/Informatics. Prefer knowledge of EPIC EHR. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Zoom. One Note, Teams as well as office equipment. Successful completion of data entry standards administered by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Human Resources staff. Training in office equipment (calculator, cash register, computers, printers, and fax) is desirable. Special Skills and Aptitudes: Proficient in Microsoft products. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately. Must have good audio and visual acuity with excellent Ability to analyze and make recommendations related to listening and communication skills. Ability to effectively teach/train and create learning resources related to EPIC Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation. Ability to work independently and identify areas for improvement related to department flow and the EHR. Adjust to stressful situations with confidence and good judgment. Ability to perform routine and complex procedures. Must also be able to function effectively within a team. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Manage access/termination to Excellian for all clinical end users and ensure access is appropriate both for the network and Excellian. Excellian Trainer for clinical staff. Participate in required work groups at Allina when necessary. Assist analysts with optimization related to Excellian. Coordinate projects across multiple departments. Help to create and maintain policies related to order sets and other CI responsibilities. Act as a project manager for CI department work. Work closely with the CI Analyst to assist in process improvement projects related to reports, data collection and other related duties. Manage nuance Dragon dictation database. Coordinate meetings and record minutes as needed. Help to manage Clinical Informatics requests and tasks along with managing tasks within a ticketing system. Maintain and update the CI page on the intranet. Manage operation and office supply needs for the department. Ensure training materials are available for each discipline.
