POSITION SUMMARY The Product Launch Manager is primarily responsible for collaborating with various members of the Manufacturing and Engineering teams to develop and execute manufacturing readiness plans. The successful applicant will orchestrate internal resources to deliver to the manufacturing contractual obligations of the customer program, or internal obligations set for the introduction of new or improved products to the market. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Lead the manufacturing readiness processes (MRA or PDP). Identify, involve, and motivate cross functional members on the launch team to execute all pre-production activities. Work upstream with BIDs, Vehicle Application Engineers, Lead Project Engineers and Customer Program Management to ensure the contract requirements are understood and specials are communicated with downstream Manufacturing groups. Participate in NDI (New Design Integration) meetings with Design Engineering Work with Design Engineering to conduct virtual design reviews with Production concurrent to the design process, but prior to initial engineering change notification release Identify design errors and communicate these to design engineering for correction during the design review or NDI processes. Identify if any special processes or new systems are in the build the require support from Engineering, QA, or suppliers. Coordinate with Process Planning and Manufacturing Engineering to establish routings for new installations. Verify routings for existing installations meet the latest expectations from Production. Facilitate launch team meetings in each assembly station during the first pilot build and post issues on traveling visibility board. Aid in identifying design errors for correction through design reviews or the SWAT process during pilot and lead bus production Manage and maintain a comprehensive project issues list and drive full implementation of each issue. Drive ownership of issues and hold owners accountable for completion. Support NPI Launch Managers with maintaining project plans for new design projects. Involve, and motivate cross functional members on the launch team to execute project plans. Identify and repair systems or processes that are dysfunctional, opaque or threaten the successful completion of project timeline, quality, or budget. Drive an ongoing effort to create and evolve process capability rather than inspection. Act as member of the plant Leadership Team (LT) Provide consistent program updates in the LT meetings Participate in Monthly Goals Reviews Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) to ensure the voice of manufacturing is considered when making design or supplier changes. (drive cut-ins, configurations, as determined during product launch process.) WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: Four-year university degree in engineering, business, or supply chain or relevant experience. Certificate in Program Management strongly preferred. 5+ years in a Production or Automotive Design related function. Proficient with MS Excel and MS Project. Oracle EBS, MS Access, SQL, and Power BI would be ideal qualifications. Program Management for a vehicle manufacturing strongly preferred. Ability to communicate professionally, work with minimal supervision. Motivated self-starter who is solutions oriented. Exceptional time management and organization skills.
