QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalency

EXPERIENCE: On the job training

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Vision-sight, able to distinguish colors, have depth perception, dexterity, hearing, hand-eye coordination, reading, writing, some math aptitude, measuring skills, basic computer skills, and speaking English. Need to have both arms/hands due to the intricate use of fingers. Need both feet or prosthesis due to the high amount of walking required. Must be physically capable of doing heavy to extreme heavy lifting, carrying and moving. Have ability to learn how to operate electric skid lift. Very important to have the ability to learn how to read diagrams precisely and how to properly read, set and control temperature/heat and oven gauges.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Using magnesium and aluminum heat treatment process to follow customer procedures and work instruction specifications.

Improve properties, tensile strength, ductility, shock resistance, hardness, relief of casting stresses and to decrease possible warpage of the casting after machining.

Set and read the temperature/heat and oven gauges to insure the proper temperatures reached and/or maintained while the casting is in the oven; according to procedures and specifications set forth by the customer.

Monitor and be responsible for running the casting through the oven by using this heat process at the right time and for the correct amount of time.

Complete process by quenching, which is a cooling process using either air, water or the Yukon quenching method.

A test will be taken once training is complete to show ability to perform job functions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Lift up to 50 lbs. at waist level and up to 50 lbs. at shoulder level on a frequent basis when moving products

Push or pull with up to 80 lbs. of force on an occasional basis when moving products

Generate up to 80 lbs. of grip strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products

Generate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products

Display average coordination with both hands on a continuous basis while performing job tasks

Perform elevated work on an occasional basis when handling products

Stoop, kneel or squat on an occasional basis when handling products

Reach forward and to the side on a frequent basis when handling products

Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis during the course of each shift

Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day
