International Paper Company (www.internationalpaper.com) a leader in the industrial packaging industry is accepting applications for full-time Maintenance Mechanic Level 1 in its Crawfordsville facility. The successful candidate for this multi-craft position should be able to conduct, maintain, test and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components, as well as apply knowledge of electrical/electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skills in restoring equipment to operation.

We are looking for motivated individuals who are capable of performing a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced production environment. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality and productivity. The position will require working in a multitasking role with other maintenance technicians to complete any given task. Must possess excellent verbal communication skills, attendance and safety record with a demonstrated ability to follow directions.

Pay Rate :

$31.62/hr + $.040 Shift Differential

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Industrial maintenance mechanic/electrician will perform routine preventive maintenance and repair of machines.

  • Troubleshoot emergency maintenance on machines as necessary to support plant operations.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical failures

  • Reads, manages and performs work orders of required maintenance services.

  • Contacts vendors and OEM’s when needed to request tech support or parts

  • Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, DC Drives and touchscreens

  • Uses SAP to account for time worked and to issue parts for storeroom

  • Use SAP to view work notifications and create work orders

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • 3+ years in industrial maintenance or Combination of experience and training

  • PLC troubleshooting, inputs/outputs, and change outs of programs

  • Experience with both Siemens software packages

  • Be familiar with High pressure boiler systems and steam system repairs

  • Repairing and troubleshooting conveyor systems (line controls)

  • Knowledge of mechanical Systems (bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes)

  • High and Low Voltage experience

  • Ability to operate all functions on a multimeter/megohmmeter to diagnose a variety of electrical issues

  • Experience with a variety of sensors: proximity, IR, capacitive, resistive, laser, pressure and temperature

  • Ability to read and understand pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical schematics

  • Troubleshoot and replace both AC and DC motor systems

  • Experience with the Microsoft suite of common programs including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point.

  • Ability to learn and teach new skills.

The hiring process for successful candidates will include a pre-employment aptitude, Electrical and Mechanical test, as well as a team interview, background check and physical/drug testing. Compensation includes an hourly wage of $31.62 per hour plus night differential pay.
