Description

SAIC is looking for a Technical Writer II to support the U.S. Navy in Crane, IN .

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Provide technical Writing support for the full Multi-Spectral Targeting System (MTS) family of systems.

  • Generate changes and creation of technical data packages. The technical data packages will include Technical Repair Standards (TRSs) and Programming Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Checkout Procedures.

  • Writing technical documents to include standard operating procedures, test plans, maintenance manuals, and other instructional and guidance documentation.

  • Reviewing, and validating maintenance procedures preferred.

  • Provide technical documentation modification, validation, and verification in support of the MTS family of systems.

  • Assist in the development and review of technical documents such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), Acceptance Test Procures (ATP), Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWR), etc. All validation and verification results shall be properly documented in accordance with the applicable test data sheet(s), per standard operating procedures and work instructions.

  • Development of writing Depot Maintenance Work Instructions (DMWR) for the MTS DAS-3 turrets and electronics units to create the technical manual.

  • May be required to attend local meetings and training in support of this effort.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's Degree and at least 4 years of related experience

  • Able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

DESIRED

  • Experience with Adobe FrameMaker and with Depot Maintenance Working Requirements (DMWR’s)

  • Familiar with MIL-STD 40051-1C IETM's, MIL-STD 40051-2C Page based, under guidance of Mil-HDBK 1222F
