SAIC Senior Logistics Management Specialist in CRANE, Indiana

Description

SAIC is looking for a Logistics Management Specialist to support the US Navy in Crane, IN .

JOB DESCRIPTION

Candidate shall serve as an Airborne Crew Served Weapons Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the NAVAIR Crew Served Weapons In-Service Engineering Activity. In this role they will be responsible for providing end-user expertise on standard processes and procedures employed by operators and maintainers in the Navy and Marine Corps

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain crew served weapons and mounts in accordance with applicable NAVAIR technical publications.

  • Evaluate Conventional Ordnance Discrepancy Reports (CODRs) and provide disposition instructions.

  • Evaluate Technical Publication Deficiency Reports (TPDRs) and provide technical manual source data change requirements.

  • Develop, review, and validate maintenance procedures for crew served weapons and mounts.

  • Develop, review, and validate NATOPs flight procedures for weapon system checklists.

  • Perform live fire test and evaluation on small arms weapon systems from 7.62mm to .50 caliber.

  • Evaluate Engineering Change Proposals for applicability for changes to logistics documentation such as technical manuals, tool control manuals, support equipment requirement documents, and maintenance plans.

  • Assist in inventory management of repair parts for crew served weapons and mounts.

  • Build kits, receive/stock material, and prepare material for shipment.

  • Develop maintenance and operator training curriculum for mounts and weapon systems.

  • Provide training to fleet end users.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years or more of experience; Masters degree and 8 years of experience. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be accepted.

  • Minimum of 6 of the years experience should be in Navy/Marine aviation weapon system maintenance. Prefer qualification in one of the following Military Occupational Specialties: 6173, 6174, 6176, 6531, or Navy Rating AO.

  • Experience developing training materials or maintenance procedures.

  • Experience providing training in the utilization and/or maintenance of crew served weapons and mounts.

  • Ability to convey technical instructions in a complete and concise manner.

  • Experience writing, training, and/or evaluating NATOPs flight procedures.

  • Experience performing maintenance on crew served weapons and mounts utilized by the Navy and Marines on airborne platforms such as the UH-1, CH-53, V-22, and MH-60.

  • Ability to tactfully engage senior leadership (uniformed and civilian) on crew served weapons topics.

  • Ability to create and edit documents using Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel).

  • Ability to pass the Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA&E) screening process.

  • Ability to obtain explosive handling certification.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs to chest height.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

  • Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain Secret security clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.

  • US Citizenship required

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Explosive handling certification.

  • Fork truck operator's license.
