Overview

LOGISTICIAN (F3500-2024-20372):

Bowhead seeks a Logistician to join our team in Crane, IN. The Logisticians are responsible for managing a product's life cycle from design to disposal and must be able to develop, adjust and carry out logistical plans related to various products. Logisticians are required to properly allocate materials, supplies and products to ensure the success of the contract and must have excellent communication and problem solving skills. The Logisticians must also keep accurate and complete record and be able to work in a fast-paced environment requiring excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:

  • Developing business relationships with suppliers and clients

  • Reviewing and maintaining logistical functions to identify areas for improvement

  • Proposing strategies to minimize cost and/or time that is required to transport goods

  • Research legacy equipment OM&S ERP listings. Identify and correct material nomenclatures, part numbers, Navy Stock Numbers (NSN). Identify material applicability and quarterly demand rates. Work with material movers and visit warehouses to check equipment condition and status. Provide recommendations (reduction in inventory, DRMO,combine like units, quantities to keep).

  • Track inventory, adding newly procured parts and removing quantities used in builds, processing paperwork, process DRMO/red tag for obsolete parts, tracking and organizing lab stock.

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn quickly the DLA storage process

  • Ability to work with Vendors to obtain quotes

  • Develop and analyze this material to determine appropriate level of sparing based on failure rates, obsolescence, etc to assist in developing 5-year procurement plans and management of equipment.

  • Track and manage all GFE and also assist the Engineers to successfully have a rotable pool of “A” equipment readily available at all times.

  • Analyze and research equipment in inventory.

  • Packing build kits and sending kits to storage for future trips

  • MS Excel knowledge

  • ERP Experience

  • SWMS Experience

  • MILSTRIP/PCARD Experience

  • Experience with Material Movement Paperwork

Qualifications

  • An Associate’s degree is desired or a minimum of at least two (2+) years of experience however additional experience may be substituted for formal education for highly qualified candidates.

  • An understanding an application of logistics principles, concepts, practices and standards. Knowledge of industry practices an application to government practices.

  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts

  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
