System One Production Manager in Cranbury, New Jersey

Title: Production Manager

Location: Cranbury, NJ

Schedule: Day Shift 6AM-4:30PM

Type: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating production floor activities, ensuring the safety of personnel, the quality, delivery, and cost of the product for the full satisfaction of our customers. Will support continuous improvement activities for increased productivity and cost savings while providing a safe and positive work environment for employees.

  • Owns the enforcement and compliance of safety systems and initiatives across multiple shifts to ensure a safe and accident-free environment amongst staff.

  • Responsible for adhering to production schedules and works closely with the production planner to satisfy workload, meet production demands, and maintain cost.

  • Ability to demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and to appropriately prioritize workload based upon organization or department needs. Must be flexible to work various shifts to support the needs of the team.

  • Monitors manufacturing practices and ensures that the methods used are compliant with appropriate standards and company policy.

  • Responsible for the coaching and development of supervisory staff and their incumbents. Maintains clear lines of communication with all employees and fosters an environment of trust.

  • Responsible for maintaining training records and matrix of operator experience levels. Prioritizes cross training and development of all staff with emphasis on individual growth and efficient workflow.

  • Responsible for supporting regular maintenance of equipment with the maintenance department to minimize downtime.

  • Upholds the food safety systems in accordance with all regulatory requirements and Corporate Directives. Participates in internal/external audit process multiple times per year.

  • Demonstrates high levels of creativity, analytical thinking, and effective organization skills. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement and other improvement methodologies to improve all aspects of the entire value stream.

  • Measures KPI’s and routinely communicates results and areas of improvements to all staff.

  • Manage the communication flow of Production issues to Quality Control, Maintenance, Sales, Customer Service, Logistics and Purchasing.

    Requirements:

  • Minimum – 4 Year / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, or Business

  • Minimum – 5 years of relevant experience in operations with at least 3 years in a managerial role experience in a production/operations environment

  • Ability to properly maintain confidential or sensitive information

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office and ability to quickly learn new ERP systems

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Understands a multi-step production process and fully understands the flow of a production process from when orders are entered till they are shipped.

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus
