Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Instructor to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI.

JOB SUMMARY 

Conducts electrical initial and continuing training. Works closely with Electrical Maintenance department personnel to identify weaknesses in knowledge, skill, and behavior, and then systematically leverages training solutions appropriately to close gaps in performance in a timely manner.  

JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develops instructional materials and conducts training for Electrical Maintenance technicians.

  • An incumbent for this position should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory (SAT/TSD).

  • This level is also responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, and legal requirements.

  • Ensures accredited Electrical Maintenance training program and instructional materials are maintained current by incorporating plant changes.

  • Maintains knowledge of plant operational conditions to support the analysis, design, and development of high-quality training materials.

  • Conducts trainee evaluations in various training settings (classroom, laboratory, OJT, etc.,).

  • Supports station business initiatives, refueling outages, Emergency Planning (EP) duties, and other projects.

  • The Electrical Maintenance instructor is also required to participate in instructional continuing training.

  • Must participate in management assessments.

  • Ensures training records are complete, accurate and auditable.

  • Demonstrates leadership by upholding high standards in all training settings.   

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Nuclear (preferable) or other related industry experience teaching Electrical Maintenance initial and/or continuing training to technicians. Knowledge of and experience using the systematic approach to training (SAT) process. Good interpersonal skills, effective writing and verbal communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to instruct. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    Minimum education required of the position:

  • High School diploma or equivalent or associate’s/bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in science, technology, engineering (electrical), mathematics, physics, etc., with four years of nuclear (preferable) or other related industry work experience.  

    Minimum experience required of the position: 

  • Four years electrical maintenance related instructional experience (commercial or military). 

    Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position: 

  • Technical proficiency in the assigned area.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    Any certificates, licenses, etc., required for the position:

  • SRO license or SRO certification (BWR/PWR).

  • Electrical trade or technical schooling certificate.
