UPMC MRI Technologist - Full-time - Days - Cole in Coudersport, Pennsylvania

UPMC Cole is seeking a full-time MRI Technologist! This role will work 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Whether you're an experienced imaging professional or a new graduate eager to gain experience, this could be your opportunity!

The MRI Technologist performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains clinical competency for all exams and equipment.

  • Identifies all patients properly using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures. Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquired data including the labeling /preparation/and administration of contrast. Document patient history in electronic record as required.

  • Before starting the exam, read and present all relevant information to the physician based on the protocol

  • Ensures all exams within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all patient information is updated and documented in Rad Assessment, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.

  • Practices and maintains MR safety in the department.

  • Performs procedures for reviewing, processing, and archiving.

  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients clearly and concisely and explain procedures to help lessen the patient's fears and solicit their cooperation.

Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology, or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMIT or ARDMS program.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Must obtain MR registry within 18 months of hire date.

CPR or BLS is required.

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • ARRT Certificate OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
