A WAY OUT Domestic Violence / Sexual Assault Counselor in Coudersport, Pennsylvania

The Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor will be responsible for assisting in agency outreach through school presentations, presentations to community-based organizations, preparing and distributing the agency newsletter, and coordinating participation in community outreach events as well as assisting with advocacy as it relates to domestic violence and sexual assault.

This person will also be responsible to provide direct service to victims of sexual assault, domestic abuse, and homelessness as it relates to domestic violence and sexual assault. The Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault counselor will also be responsible for maintaining the ETO data base. In addition, this person will aid in recruiting and maintaining of volunteer records as well as training new volunteers.

Required Skills/Activities:

  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Able to work with the public and have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must successfully complete 40-hour Sexual Assault Counseling training and 40-hour Domestic Violence.
  • Must have a valid PA driver's license, access to a vehicle, and be willing to transport victims, if needed.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours.
  • Must be able to obtain Act 33 and Act 34 clearances.
