Minimum/Required Qualifications Doctoral level degree (in hand by start date). Demonstrable knowledge of music theory and aural skills. Knowledge of current music theory topics, curriculum, and pedagogy. Experience teaching undergraduate students. Record of scholarly achievement and potential that aligns with an R1 research institution. Record of and/or demonstrated interest in engaging, educating, and mentoring a diverse group of learners and enhancing diversity through teaching, outreach, or programming. Ability to work collegially with other faculty, staff, and students. Position Duties 75% Teaching and Assigned Duties Teaching duties will include core music theory and aural skills courses, as well as ongoing development and maintainennce of the music theory curriculum. 15% Creative and Scholarly Work The faculty member will maintain scholarly activities in their areas of expertise. 10% Service Service to the music area, the School, and the College of Liberal Arts.
