Cortland Housing Authority (CHA) Maintenance Mechanic in Cortland, New York

This work involves the participation in the efficient and economical maintenance and operation of the properties of the housing authority. Supervision is received from the Executive Director, the Maintenance Supervisor and his/her designee, with some leeway for making independent decisions on procedures to be followed in the completion of tasks. Supervision may be exercised over the work of maintenance laborers and others. Does related work as required. Graduation from high school or GED and two years of full-time or its' part-time equivalent experience of general building maintenance or skilled trades. NOTE: Technical school, post secondary trade school, internships, and apprenticeships in any of the skilled trades may be substituted for experience. Applicants must complete a Cortland County Civil Service Application, which can be obtained from the Cortland County Personnel Department, 60 Central Avenue, Cortland, NY 13045 Applications can also be downloaded from the Cortland County website at www.cortland-co.org/personnel. Overtime is on call and required paid at applicable rate.
