Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Summary: Cortland Park is a 120-bed skilled nurisng facility, which is under new Nursing Leadership and is recruiting Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). Consistent schedule with shifts open for your preference and to meet your work life balance.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Responsibilities:

  • Receive daily report from outgoing team member and give report to the team member that follows you on the next shift.

  • Provide or assist with personal care including bathing; dressing; grooming; mouth care; toileting; turning and positioning for all residents assigned.

  • Provide transfer and ambulation assistance, range of motion and any other exercises recommended for all residents.

  • Assist all residents to their meals and provide them with assistance as needed at their meals; including feeding the residents when needed.

  • Assist all residents to appointments within the facility including the beauty shop, any activity programs, therapy, etc.

  • Report any changes in residents’ physical, mental or skin conditions to the Charge Nurse.

  • Answer all call lights and emergency bells immediately on the unit.

  • Complete all required daily documentation.

  • Complete all restorative nursing treatments daily on the residents.

  • Ensure all resident rooms on the unit are neat and orderly.

  • Ensure all residents on the unit receive nourishment with between meals snacks and drinks as needed.

  • Participates in culture change, improvements in the work environment and quality of life for residents.

  • Works as a team member to achieve excellence in care and attainment of the mission of the facility.

  • Treats all residents, family members and staff with respect and dignity.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Requirements:

  • Must have current New York State certification and be in good standing on the Nursing Assistant Registry.

  • Communicate orally and in writing with residents, families, co-workers and the public.

  • Must be approved to work through the Criminal Background Check Program.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and be able to walk around the unit.

  • Must be able to stoop; kneel; crouch; reach above or below shoulder height; push; pull; climb
