Job Purpose: The Mechanic will safely and conscientiously perform all assigned routine, preventative, scheduled, unscheduled/corrective, and emergency maintenance on designated Commercial Vehicles in accordance with federal, state, and company regulations and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities: (The following statements describe the general nature of the work performed in this role and are not an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of duties. Duties and responsibilities may be assigned by management.) - Comply with company safe work policies. - Immediately report any unsafe conditions, unsafe work practices, environmental concerns, and/or equipment problems to management. Immediately report any incident involving equipment or vehicle damage; an injury or near miss; first aid or medical treatment to management. - Maintain high awareness during/around hazardous work (i.e., hot-work); apply Lock-out-Tag-out (LOTO) procedures according to company requir - Read and follow management-of-change items established for any/all changes to equipment or maintenance procedures. - Perform timely system generated truck/trailer work orders at required intervals; accurately complete all required documentation (reports, work orders, etc.). - Perform corrective maintenance as identified through Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR); troubleshoot problems to identify and resolve equipment issues. - Contribute to inventory control by ensuring parts needed and parts used are accurately recorded; parts ordered/stocked are put away. - Communicate with others (including management, coworkers, drivers, dispatchers, customers, vendors, etc.) in an open and collaborative manner. - Maintain an orderly and clean work area; take care with equipment/tools. - Participate in company meetings including Safety and Performance; complete training assignments fully and on schedule.

Qualifications / Work Experience: - Experience in tractor/trailer maintenance. Must have own tools and tool-box. - Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and close familiarity with required tools. - Ability to work independently or with direction; available for work on nights and weekends as needed. - Basic understanding of tractor and trailer mechanicals including vehicle electrical systems, electrical hazards; braking, steering, suspension, and pumping systems. Willing and able to learn hydraulics, cryogenic systems, diagnostics, and other systems as required. - Comfortable learning and navigating various systems and software packages for research, training, documentation, work instruction, forms completion, etc. Sufficient computer familiarity to download diagnostic software, complete online training, and perform various basic functions includi
