Job Description Summary:

Waves Resort bartenders are expected to welcome guests with accurate, efficient and friendly service when processing guest food and beverage purchases.

Job Description:

  • Makes guest internal/external service and guest satisfaction a priority in every aspect of the job.

  • Responds quickly, intelligently, decisively and in accordance with established emergency action plan.

  • Interviews new hire applicants and potential staff members.

  • Coaches and provides direction to bar staff ensuring they have adequate training and knowledge to effectively provide an excellent guest experience.

  • Provides documentation of staff member occurrences, disciplinary action taken and terminations to the Staff Services Department in a timely fashion.

  • Creates and maintains consistent work schedules for staff members.

  • Arranges bottles to make an attractive display behind the bar.

  • Manages inventory.

  • Serves alcoholic drinks to guests following standard recipes and policies and procedures.

  • Verifies that guests meet minimum age requirements for alcohol purchases.

  • Runs and balances a cash register in an honest, organized, efficient, safe and courteous manner.

  • Recognizes guests that are visibly intoxicated and takes action to cut off alcohol to such individuals.

  • Maintains a clean workstation.

  • Maintains established performance levels.

  • Creates and maintains a culture of safe work practices.

  • Conduct and/or assists with all aspects of inventory control, including ordering, receiving, counting and forecasting.
