Guthrie Supervisor, Nursing- Nursing Administration - Per Diem in Corning, New York

The rate of pay for this position is $59.30.

Position Summary:

The Supervisor represents Corning Hospital and Nursing Administration in their absence

Education, License & Cert:

  1. License to practice in the State of New York

  2. BSN preferred

    Experience:

    5 years of clinical experience in acute care setting and 1 year in Critical Care with demonstrated abilities in leadership and clinical roles

    Essential Functions:

  3. Assumes a collaborative role in staffing and scheduling of personnel, considering appropriate utilization of personnel, scope of practice, competencies, patient needs and complexity of care.

  4. Seeks to support a professional practice environment which fosters excellence in nursing practice.

  5. Fosters professional nurse empowered decision‐making, accountability and autonomy in nursing practice.

  6. Responds and assumes appropriate role in emergency codes/crisis intervention.

  7. Addresses Employee Health incidents appropriately.

  8. Demonstrates knowledge of NYSDOH Codes and reporting requirements.

  9. Communicates with patient, family and healthcare providers regarding patient care, demonstrating strong communication skills.

  10. Effectively promotes service‐recovery.

  11. Maintains confidentiality while serving as a professional liaison with the community.

  12. Functions as a mentor for development of nursing staff.

  13. Participates in professional continuing education programs.

  14. Participates in nursing committees, performance improvement activities and initiatives.
