We are looking for an innovative and driven Sr. Program Manager to work on strategic initiatives across our global Risk & Compliance Solutions organization. This is a global team and role where you will work with internal and external stakeholders across business, tech and operations to deliver meaningful strategic programs that will improve how we manage risk and compliance across Amazon’s diverse businesses across the globe.

Key job responsibilities

• Set goals and manage end-to-end delivery of programs

• Own full program management lifecycles - identify, track, manage and mitigate project risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies

• Work closely across internal teams to understand and capture requirements and set success criteria of programs, aligning to strategic goals

• Manage funding and prioritization of programs, ensuring clear Return on Investment and tracking of initiatives post-completion

• Build and employ mechanisms to drive continual improvements in project management and process improvements

• Manage reporting and tracking of programs, including writing narratives and owning metrics

A day in the life

• Work closely with peers in the Strategic Programs team across different programs and subjects.

• Connect regularly with partner teams, driving reviews of the programs

• Work closely alongside partner teams to understand requirements to help build solutions.

• Track and report on progress and help needed

• Brainstorm, whiteboard, take on topics outside of your core role and have fun with the team!

About the team

Strategic Programs is a small PMO team within the Risk & Compliance Solutions organization. This is a fast growing organization that provides second line Risk & Compliance advisory and oversight of Amazon’s businesses across the globe, ensuring that our customers have trusted experiences wherever they interact with Amazon. The teams are truly international and diverse, covering in-country and global shared services roles with a mix of skillsets, spanning from tenured Compliance professionals to generalist program managers.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years program management experience, with proven examples of strategic management of complex programs, including driving reprioritization decisions with senior stakeholders (Directors / VPs)

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Experience managing complex initiatives, delivering critical solutions, significant improvements, new mechanisms, or deprecating processes that are no longer needed

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Experience in RegTech or managing large regulatory change projects, ideally within second line compliance in financial services or e-commerce
