Responsibilities

  • Produce technical safety/process engineering deliverables as required to support business objectives;

  • Develop safety engineering philosophies, design HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) plans, safety specifications;

  • Arrange and participate in formal process safety assessments, including HAZID (Hazard Identification), HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), and SIL (Safety Integrity Level) target setting studies. Generate study reports;

  • Provide input to project design assurance reviews (e.g., P&ID reviews);

  • Perform hazardous area classification following industry codes and guidance (such as BS 60079 and EI15 );

  • Produce and review study reports, and design calculations, ensuring compliance with engineering quality standards;

  • Provide technical support to projects;

  • Stay informed about relevant regulatory frameworks, legislative changes, initiatives, and industry technology developments.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Awareness of process operations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of COMAH , DSEAR , ATEX , and other health and safety legislations applicable to the role.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong multitasking abilities and self-driven work ethic.

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Awareness of international codes and standards.

  • IChemE or equivalent HAZOP Chair certificate

  • IChemE or equivalent LOPA Chair certificate
