Position Role Type:

This position is responsible for the daily operational function for inventory storage machines (16 vertical shuttles, 47 horizontal carousels and 3 vertical carousels). The warehousing processes require many printer types (mostly label printers) and are reliant upon IE to keep those to be functioning as well as various other equipment (such as hum sealers, handheld scanners, tie-o-matic, lead former, brown shipping tape dispensers, etc.)

1002 Warehouse - The MDC supports Cedar Rapids, Coralville, Bellevue, Manchester and Decorah manufacturing (as well as some other legacy HRC locations).

1051 Warehouse - The MDC supports Service Solutions customers and repair locations. It ships 24x4 365.

The MDC supports top level shipping for Coralville.

This role will be performed ONSITE in our Collins Aerospace location in Coralville, IA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead all efforts to keep the storage and systems up and running including working with Maintenance and supplier on resolutions.

  • Work with suppliers and the leadership staff for quoting needs to support all capital projects. Verify all assets are properly labeled with company asset tags.

  • Primary for break/fix items that IE can repair and if not, take next steps. Develops solutions to a variety of IE problems. Works on complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

  • Conduct research studies on new processes, methods, and equipment; and make recommendations for acquisitions.

  • Keep the leader(s) informed and up to date on improvements/break-fix/outage/changes/projects so that they can keep their teams informed. Answer questions from their teams and do change management for changes coming to the areas.

  • Develops and keeps current the Coralville Preventative Maintenance Methods (CPMM)which is the detailed work instructions for the preventive maintenance of the MDC machines/systems.

  • Keep leadership team informed at onset of a project and provide timely updates during process to address, resolve, and improve project and process.

  • Keep a current CAD of the MDC, provide CAD services to peers, other interest groups, and/or leader when needed/ Provide CAD for work order (WO) needs and management of change (MOC) projects.

  • Responsible for developing new logistics/warehousing processes and making improvements to existing processes to achieve continuous improvement in all engineering economic disciplines.

  • Compiles operational data, develops cost or time estimates, schedules, or specifications to support the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow.

  • Develop tools that enable manufacturing/warehousing/logistics, aid process improvement or address safety concerns.

  • Leads cross-functional studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control through the application of analytical/Core principles. Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.

  • Determines the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.

  • Be the single point of contact with all issues, breakdowns, ordering. Provide timely updates to affected peers and leader. Have documented "How to and POCs" for in case of absence.

  • Z ero Energy Sate Procedures (ZESPS) - Review thoroughly and completely upon request for the yearly review. Develop ZESPS for each new equipment added to MDC and label appropriately. Modify ZESPS or add if equipment is changed or modified in any way.

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

  • Engineering Degree

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industrial Engineering experience or knowledge of, or related Engineering field

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
