Hills Bank Learning and Development Specialist in Coralville, Iowa

SCHEDULE: Full-time; Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Average of 40 hours/week.

SCOPE:

Primary role is to provide training and facilitate skill development associated with basic bank knowledge including bank technology and customer service initiatives. Duties expected are to develop new content and classes independently and within a team. This individual will train the core knowledge needed to uphold the banks' values intended for all employees. This position will require close collaboration and frequent communication with the Learning and Development Manager, Human Resources and supervisors within the bank.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Training and Support:

  • Designs and develops materials/writes content independently for, schedules, and delivers training to general audiences (frequency based upon demand) for basic bank knowledge and technology along with customer service initiatives.

  • Delivery of training may include in-person classroom, WebEx video, recorded screen capture, or computer based programs within our Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Research, recommend, implement and maintain the bank's LMS, including but not limited to developing elearning courses, maintaining accurate records, providing technical support, and revising elearning content as needed.

  • Design and develop new classes, guides, cheat-sheets and materials independently for employees as needed.

  • Gather feedback from others throughout the process and make adjustments to materials and classes as needed.

Other Duties:

  • Proactively identify and work with Learning and Development Manager to initiate and execute enhancements to programs and procedures.

  • Complete additional projects and operational administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job-related seminars, conferences, workshops, and attending all relevant internal training.

  • Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.

  • Promote a positive image of the department and bank through participation in company events and community involvement.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college; and 3-5 years of experience in training adult learners or teaching secondary education or higher

  • Must be flexible, take initiative, project a high level of enthusiasm, make decisions, accept responsibility, have the ability to work independently, and able to accept feedback and consider the opinions of others.

  • This job requires skills needed in a typical office environment. This includes computer skills, as well as utilization of office equipment.

  • Must be able to work under stress, handle difficult situations, and juggle multiple priorities.
