This position is part of the Equipment Services department located in Coralville, IA and will be on-site At IDT, we are one global team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • The Technician I role supports the reliability and sustainability of custom automated laboratory equipment in a high throughput environment. Within IDT’s quality system associates will coordinate and perform preventative maintenance services and address unplanned maintenance services on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, fluidics, and optical devices/systems, as well as PLC Controlled systems.

  • Ensures operation of custom automated laboratory equipment by completing preventive and unplanned service in compliance with IDT’s quality system by following Standard Operating Procedure and Work Instruction documents while performing maintenance procedures.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, fluidics, optical devices/systems, controls systems and other equipment as typically acquired by an Associate's degree (Engineering or Maintenance) or at least two years of related experience required.

  • Performs other duties as assigned, including exerting 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 25-50 lbs. of force frequently. Constant (67%-100% of work day).

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Automation equipment testing and troubleshooting preferred—including Beckhoff TwinCat/EtherCat and Unitronic or similar control systems.

  • Following diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.

  • Mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills—including the ability to use hand and power tools.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
