Miami Herbert Business School (MHBS) is a comprehensive business school, offering undergraduate business, full-time MBA, Executive MBA, MS, PhD and non-degree executive education programs. One of 12 colleges and schools at the University of Miami, the Business School is a major hub of international trade and commerce and acclaimed for the global orientation and diversity of its faculty, students, and curriculum. The school delivers programs at its main campus in Coral Gables, Florida, as well as at other locations across the state and abroad.

Miami Herbert Business School is currently seeking a Director of Admissions, Graduate Business Programs Enrollment, to oversee admissions and enrollment to a portfolio of MBA Program. Under the guidance of the Executive Director, Graduate Business Programs Enrollment, the incumbent will be responsible for managing a team to ensure that the goals for each program are met with the highest quality candidates. In addition to managing a team, the Director of Admissions, Graduate Business Programs Enrollment recruits qualified students for admission to the Full-Time MBA Program and provides strategic insights to MHBS management.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Recruitment

a. Develop best practices for recruiting prospective students to ensure applications from high-quality candidates to the graduate program's portfolio. This may involve analyzing recruitment trends, identifying effective marketing strategies, and implementing recruitment initiatives to reach potential applicants. By establishing best practices, the university can ensure that its recruitment efforts are targeted, efficient, and yield positive results.

b. Provide exceptional customer service through the explanation of MBA educational programs, expected outcomes, student services, and financial considerations to prospective graduate students. Ensure an effective and seamless admissions process, as a recruiter for the Full-Time MBA Program.

c. Schedule and conduct MBA interviews representing MHBS to prospective candidates and ensuring a rigorous selection process. Make prompt and effective contact with inquiries and redirect unqualified candidates.

d. Assist with the planning and execution of recruiting, marketing, and other related events to attract prospective students and promote brand awareness. This may involve coordinating event logistics, developing promotional materials, and ensuring that events are well-organized and impactful.

e. Represent MHBS and travel occasionally to graduate fairs, conferences and colleges to attract the highest-quality prospective applicants to all MHBS graduate programs and increase brand awareness.

  1. Enrollment

a. Nurture interested applicants over their entire decision journey, carefully understanding their preferences and guiding them towards appropriate options within the school’s graduate program portfolio. This includes providing timely information, ensuring candidates have everything they need to enroll, and arrive for program orientation.

b. Assist in the management of the prospect and applicant database. This involves updating prospect and applicant data in the database, ensuring data integrity, and using the database effectively to provide personalized service to graduate business applicants. By aiding in database management, the university can streamline its admissions processes, track applicant progress, and improve communication with prospective students.

c. Verify application and enrollment statistics. This involves monitoring applicant data to ensure consistency and accuracy of information, as well as compiling enrollment statistics to assess the effectiveness of recruitment efforts. By verifying application and enrollment statistics, the university can make data-driven decisions to optimize its admissions strategies and improve outcomes.

3.Team and Stakeholder Management

a. Manage and coach a team to meet enrollment goals, increase applications, provide strong customer service, and screen candidates for all MBA Programs. This includes setting performance expectations with team members, coaching them to attain those expectations, and providing feedback throughout the year on their success towards those expectations.

b. Build strong team culture, positive communication, and a healthy work environment through positive leadership and pacesetting.

c. Support Assistant and Associate Directors in processing applications. This includes coordinating the review of application files, assisting with student application processes, and involving faculty and program management where appropriate. By providing assistance with application processing, the university can streamline the admissions process and provide excellent support to prospective students.

d. Collaborate with Program Directors, Advisors, and the Career Advancement Team. This may involve coordinating with program leadership to address inquiries, provide program-specific information to prospective students, and ensure that students receive the support they need throughout the admissions and enrollment process. By interacting and working closely with program leadership, the university can ensure a cohesive and supportive experience for students at all stages of their academic journey.

  1. Strategy and Vision

a. Provide strategic insights on MBA Programs, graduate enrollment trends, and feedback from the graduate admission team members to suggest enrollment, admissions and operational process improvements.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required

  • MBA preferred

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make sound decisions related to job responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to run database reports without supervision and ability to analyze results.

  • Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize work

  • Superior written, verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Strong knowledge of all Microsoft products including Excel, Word, Power Point and Publisher (preferred).

  • Experience working with databases and data analysis is required. Experience with Salesforce is a plus.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and handle multiple requests/responsibilities simultaneously .

  • Experience in higher education admissions is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of a second language is a plus.

  • Adaptability and growth mindset highly desired.
