We’re looking for an amazing Maintenance professional to fill this role, which is based in our Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge. You’ll be responsible for the of maintenance and technical operations of Kenai Princess Lodge to include lodge building, guest buildings, civil water distribution, septic system waste water collections, employee housing and all other structures onsite along with their operating systems along with year-round and seasonal maintenance team.

Here’s a summary of what Holland America Line and Princess is looking for in its Assistant Manager, Facilities Maintenance. Is this you?

Responsibilities:

  • Work with maintenance manager to manage daily and yearly lodge operations.

  • Manage and support LMMS system and safety training for FT and seasonal team

  • Apply knowledge of equipment, systems and facilities maintenance to include carpentry, HVAC, mechanical and groundskeeping and provide guidance to team

  • Performs and/or oversees maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, startup and shutdown of facility, daily maintenance requests, vehicle inspections, HESS & SAY initiatives

  • Works with other departments to ensure equipment is functioning in a safe manner

  • Provide regular training to team members in line with HAP guidelines

  • Support budgetary and fiscal guidelines.

  • Participate in weekly Manager on Duty program

  • Maintenance on-call schedule

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Journeyman, post-secondary technical certification, water systems operator

  • Licensed in carpentry, electrical, mechanical plumbing or HVAC

  • Normally requires a professional level of knowledge in facilities maintenance

  • 4 years progressively responsible positions in hotel property or facilities maintenance

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America Line/Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).

Abilities, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Third class stationary steam boiler license required or obtained within 180 days of hire

  • State of Alaska Small Water Systems certification is required or obtained within 180 days of hire

  • Current, valid AK driver’s license

  • Proficiency in computer programs (Microsoft platforms)

  • Ability to prioritize work, support time constraints, meet deadlines, supervise and lead team and work with guest requests/inquiries

  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees, management and guests

  • Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines, including company health and safety standards

  • Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background verification

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in a business environment
